The context
On 23 April 2026, the French Health Data Hub (Plateforme des Données de Santé) announced Scaleway as the future host of its technology platform, replacing Microsoft Azure. Scaleway is to provide hosting for a copy of the main SNDS database between late 2026 and early 2027.
For healthcare SaaS vendors, the signal is clear: storage sovereignty is no longer a marketing topic. It is becoming a procurement question, a due diligence question, and a DPO/CISO review question.
The question your sales team must be able to answer without hesitation: "Can your PDF flow run with our Scaleway storage, or do you force us to stay on AWS, Azure, or a vendor-controlled store?"
Win the RFPs that require Scaleway
Add a Scaleway-compatible PDF editor to your healthcare product, without rebuilding your infrastructure.
Users fill and sign their PDFs in the browser. Finalized documents are then sent directly to your Scaleway Object Storage bucket. In this BYOS flow, SimplePDF is not the primary store for health documents.
Result: you can answer buyers with a clear, documentable, reversible flow — customer-controlled storage, a configuration compatible with your HDS requirements, and the option to switch to another S3-compatible store.
Why healthcare buyers approve this architecture faster
SimplePDF plugs into your BYOS architecture: finalized documents are sent to your configured storage, not kept as the primary record inside SimplePDF. With Scaleway Object Storage and S3-compatible APIs, your team controls residency, access, retention, and evidence for review.
Storage control
Finalized documents land in your bucket. You choose the region, the access rules, the retention, and the S3-compatible provider.
Easier HDS review
SimplePDF avoids hosting patient documents in the BYOS flow. Your compliance team then validates the full chain: HDS contract, region, encryption, logs, access, and responsibilities.
Reversibility by design
Scaleway today, another S3-compatible provider tomorrow. Your PDF flow is not tied to a vendor-controlled document store.

The SimplePDF connection is a configuration step once your bucket is ready. For health data, Scaleway documents specific requirements: new bucket, Paris region, encryption, private access, and shared-responsibility controls.
Create a healthcare-ready bucket
Create a new Scaleway Object Storage bucket in the Paris region for health data. Keep it private and review Scaleway's HDS prerequisites before going live.
Create scoped credentials
Generate keys dedicated to this bucket with strictly necessary permissions. Avoid global keys shared across environments.
Connect SimplePDF to the bucket
Add the Scaleway endpoint, bucket name, and dedicated keys in your SimplePDF dashboard. Then test an end-to-end document.
Document the flow for your DPO/CISO
New finalized documents are sent to Scaleway per your configuration. Keep the architecture sheet, bucket settings, IAM permissions, and test evidence for your compliance review.
Built for healthcare teams blocked by sovereignty reviews
Use SimplePDF + Scaleway when the PDF editor is no longer just a product feature, but part of the security, procurement, and compliance review:
Pricing
Scaleway BYOS is included in the Pro plan at $349/month and above. If your bucket is ready, you can start self-serve and connect your storage from the dashboard. Choose an architecture review if you need help preparing HDS/GDPR evidence, procurement answers, or a high-volume deployment.
