SimplePDF supports architectures where documents are processed in the browser and, when configured with direct-to-storage, completed files go directly to customer-controlled infrastructure without transiting SimplePDF servers.

Whether a given workflow satisfies HIPAA or BAA requirements depends on your implementation and should be reviewed by your compliance team.

How many PDFs can I add to my website?
Each plan includes a monthly quota of documents and submissions. Basic covers up to 2,500 per month, Pro up to 20,000, and Premium up to 200,000. For higher volumes, we offer custom plans. You can add unlimited PDFs across multiple sites and integrations within your quota.
What counts toward my monthly quota?
What counts. Your plan quota counts documents and submissions together. A document is any file added to storage (a PDF template, a generated report, an uploaded form). A submission is a completed and saved version of a form. Opening the same document multiple times only counts once. If ten users fill the same intake form, that generates one document plus ten submissions, for eleven total units that month.

How it is measured. Monthly. Your quota resets at the start of each billing period. We count documents and submissions added during the period, regardless of how many you keep, delete, or move afterward. Your data retention policy does not affect your bill.

If you exceed it. We notify you at 80% and 100% of your monthly quota. We don't block requests or fail submissions in production. If usage consistently exceeds the plan, we'll work with you to upgrade or build a custom plan that fits your volume.

With Bring Your Own Storage. Metering is identical whether you use SimplePDF's storage or your own S3, Scaleway Object Storage, Azure Blob Storage, or SharePoint bucket. We count operations as they happen and never query or audit your bucket contents.
What about higher volumes than 200,000 per month?
We offer custom plans for high-volume customers. Scale plans cover up to 2 million documents and submissions per month, and Enterprise contracts handle anything above. Contact us for a 30-minute scoping conversation.
What is a submission?
A submission is created each time a user completes and submits a PDF document through SimplePDF. Each submission is accessible in your dashboard and can be delivered to you via email or webhook. Documents and submissions count together toward your monthly plan quota.
What's included in the Dashboard?
The Dashboard is where you manage everything. You can add, manage, and tag your documents. Create PDF forms, customize your branding. Configure your editor, set up email and webhook notifications, view submissions, and invite team members. The number of seats (users who can log in) depends on your plan.
